SLIDES OF MONEY! Of the three of our kids, Nyeleti is the only one who saves money.

Yinhla tries. He keeps it at the back of his phone until I “borrow” it for his tuck days at school, or whatever. In my defence tho, he uses our cards for his Robux, Vbux and PS5 premium subscription. So all is fair.

Malwandla! This girls is her mother’s child. Yhu!

This child will shop. Listen, whether it’s R2, R300 or R10, she WILL drag you to Crazy Stores.
She sees money, she wants to BUY! I mean that’s kinda what money is for right? Spending!

Not for Nyeleti tho.
My girl will spend everyone’s shmoney but hers.

She called herself a saver! Seems like her dad’s chartered accountancy flows in her blood.

In comes the bank.
While they all have bank accounts, thanks to Nyeleti likes to look at her Mandelas. She says it feels good to have money.

I had to get her this shandis just so she can keep her money safe from Malwandla, see I told you girl is a problem spender.

This experience will, I know, steer all of them in the direction of saving first, then spend later.

BEDTIME has, since the beginning of my journey into motherhood, been one of the most anxiety-inducing experiences for me.

In hindsight, I think it may have been because of ADHD which has me on a chokehold - definitely going to unpack this on a different post (if I remember lol).

By the time I needed to put kids down for the night, I’d be overly stimulated, overwhelmed and just spent.

I’d like to believe that even though I was winging it through their baby stages, they turned out okay as 11, 6 and 4 year olds.

However, now that they’re no longer babies, the newest “challenge” is how on some nights (read every night) the girls find their way to our bed.

I’m okay with the gymnastics of picking up and returning to their beds only for them to come back again, and again, and yes, again.

I randomly think though, whether neurotypical moms also have the same guilt?
If perhaps, they are able to lay better foundation for their babies and as a result, have smoother and more peaceful nights?

Anyway, this is my rumbling with vulnerability entry for the day.

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Ok, but do let me know how you’ve managed to stay sane (at bedtime and in mothering generally).
