The average tote bag is never big enough for all the things mums have to carry round, this should fit the purpose much better. This was my biggest embroidery I’ve done so far. Love the colours and the detailing on the elephant. Lovely present for a lovely friend 🥰

All an afternoon’s work 😁

🪡 Hemming pleated skirt with rolled hem stitch on my overlocker, perfect for thin challenging fabrics.

🧷 Taking in the sides on jumpsuit to fit better on the hips.

🧵 Skateboard appliqué on school bag

🧷 Repairing straps on backpack and giving it life for another few years.

🪡 Adjusting square cushion case to fit modified foam insert.

And this is why I love what I do. Each of the projects brings me different challenges and keeps my day more interesting and never boring.

My ironing board was in a desperate need of a makeover. This time I stripped it back to the base. I had so many crumbling and ripped layers that it had to all go.
I cut out felt to the size of my ironing board to build the padding on. I use my board every single day and it has to last. Then I put a layer of fleece and then a cover. This time I wanted something cheery (dreaming of holidays 😴😎) but I made a little mistake. Can you spot it? Let me know in the comments.

ALTERATIONS
I like the challenges what alterations bring me. Sometimes it is very simple and straightforward other times it is a lot more complicated. This dress has completely lost elasticity in waist. Shirring elastic was disintegrating and had to be removed and redone completely.
I have never done it before but have the knowledge how to so it was great to finally put it into practice. I will definitely be doing shirring a lot more, it is easier than I thought. Very happy with the end result. 😁

Scrunchies 📚✏️✂️📐

Finding ways to repurpose some of the fabric is what I love to do. Front of the shirt normally gets ruined with ink stains and paint but back normally is intact, same for the sleeves. Also the less goes into landfill the better 🥰🌍
My daughter and her friends were happy with matching scrunchies.
The green scrunchies are made from shortening bottom hem on a school dress and again practically zero waste.
