Like every other commodity, Sisal fiber prices never remained stagnant for East Africa Sisal Fiber mainly Tanzania and Kenya. In April2015, prices started to increase for East Africa Sisal fiber by 8-10% before that prices were stagnant at $2000-2100 for the month of Jan-March. Same Sisal fiber in 2014 same month was at 1400-1500$, it means within span of 1 year demand has increased 2-3 times more as compared to supply.

This might be due to the fact that end users have developed understanding of the importance of African Sisal fiber in their products, many untapped market in Middle East and Africa like Algeria, Morocco, Egypt have started importing Sisal fiber from East Africa, which also increased the demand of Sisal fiber during the last 1 year or so.

We expect prices to go higher for Sisal fiber from East Africa in coming months. This is what current situation is for East Africa Sisal fiber. We will keep our customers updated regarding recent happening in Sisal Market.
