A suitcase full of African cotton fabrics marked the beginning of this creative journey. Materials, colors, and impressions weren’t simply replicated, but translated into a distinct design language of our own.

At the heart of the process was a deep respect for the cultural richness of Mozambique. No direct references—rather, textile love letters to a country and its people, carrying a personal connection forward.

It all started 8 years ago — with a journey to Mozambique.
Vilankulo: a vibrant seaside town, full of ease and warmth.

That’s where we discovered ParCo — and a pre-school project that instantly stayed with us.
In November 2025, we returned. We looked deeper, listened closer, understood more.

And asked ourselves: How can we do more?

The answer came naturally.
My love for African fabrics, for color and expression —
translated into limited surfer sets made from cotton, unisex, loose fit.

A statement.
A feeling.
A contribution.

One third of every set sold goes directly back to the Bonguile Pre-School.

Crafted from vibrant African cotton with bold, fancy prints — this unisex surfer set (shirt + shorts) comes in a relaxed, loose fit, made for effortless style and purpose.

With every set sold, around €100 goes directly to support the Bonguile Pre-School through ParCo. At Monkey on my shoulder, we proudly contribute with ongoing monthly donations to help make a real difference.
