Home to us is a combined manifestation of familiar faces, fragrances, touches and tastes. And that is why we think, we are able to move seamlessly between distances as, we can always pick these elements with us and and station them in a new land to create our own little space. Through Katha - The Folklore (Katha), we'll introduce you to this familiarity - the colors, history and the tastes that I

grew up with and we will try to re-create the same energy with a small product basket that you could take a look at, touch and own. Katha will bring to you little bursts of color and aesthetics created in different states in India (for starters) - from the razai (quilt) to the takiya (cushions), from the sari (drape) to the jutis (shoes), from a chilman (curtain) to a chatai (mat); Katha promises to offer you a virtual joyride of one mythical land.

This weekend KATHA - The Folklore rented some decor items out for a "kelvan" - Kelvan ceremony is one of the important marriage tradition followed in Maharashtrian weddings. In this ceremony the parents and families of the soon to be bride and the groom invite each other’s family for a meal and gifts are given as a token of love. Sitting on the floor is an integral part of the Asian culture. Sitting in Sukhasan or Vajrasan is also known as active sitting. Our bodies were not assembled to sit on chairs and just merely being closer the soil will improve our posture, clean our colons and will apparently also improve our lifespan if not increase it.
