Woollyback

Woollyback Handcrafted items for gifts or for yourself. Lessons and workshops also offered from time to time. I've chosen the name in honour of him.

Most definitions of 'wooly back' that I've come across have indicated that the phrase refers to people from outside and around Liverpool; places such as Cheshire, Runcorn and particularly St Helens. Therefore technically I'm not a wooly back, having definitely been born in Liverpool. However it was a term my dad used to use to describe us children, or anyone else, who was a bit silly or annoying.

Also, because in his last few years Dad became a prolific crocheter of tartan rugs. All of us, his children, received one, as did most of his grandchildren. He made one every year for the church fete and sent them back to relatives in England. Each one was imbued with enormous amounts of love. I aim to emulate him by pouring bucketsful of love into each item I make, and into each course or lesson I present. Being a grammar nerd, I've HAD to change the spelling to woollyback, 'woolly' being the correct English spelling!
