AVAC — AUSSIE VETERAN APPAREL COMPANY
OUR BRAND STORY
More Than Apparel. A Purpose.
AVAC was created to make a difference.
It was born from service, mateship and the belief that when someone has stood for Australia, Australia should continue to stand beside them.
For many veterans, leaving the Australian Defence Force doesn’t simply mean leaving a job. It can mean leaving behind an identity, a sense of purpose, a team and the mates who stood beside you through some of the most challenging moments of your life.
For those who continue to serve, the commitment and sacrifice continue every day.
And behind them are families who serve in their own way — through deployments, long periods apart, uncertainty, sacrifice and the challenges that can follow service long after the uniform comes off.
AVAC exists for all of them.
Built From Service
I started AVAC after having served for 11 years in the Royal Australian Navy and a year in the Australian Army Reserve, including operational deployments.
That experience created an understanding of something that never leaves you:
You look after your mates.
Service builds bonds that don’t disappear when someone takes off the uniform.
It teaches loyalty, resilience, integrity, sacrifice and mateship.
Those values became the foundation of AVAC.
The Meaning Behind AVAC
AVAC is not about creating another clothing label.
The apparel is the vehicle.
Supporting veterans and their families is the purpose.
Every AVAC garment is designed to represent pride in Australian service while helping build something capable of giving back to the veteran community.
When someone wears AVAC, whether they are a veteran, currently serving, a family member, a supporter or simply someone who respects those who have served Australia, they become part of that purpose.
It is a visible statement that says:
We remember.
We respect.
We support.
The Black
Black runs throughout the AVAC range deliberately.
It represents strength, resilience and the battles that aren’t always visible.
For some veterans, the “black dog” represents struggles that can follow them beyond their service.
But within AVAC, black is not a symbol of defeat.
It represents standing your ground.
The black dog may chase us.
It does not define us.
Against the black sits the red poppy — a powerful symbol of remembrance, sacrifice and respect for those who came before us and those who never came home.
Together, these elements give AVAC an identity that carries meaning beyond the garment itself.
Our Purpose
AVAC exists for one purpose:
To stand beside Australia’s veterans, those who continue to serve, and their families.
Every garment we create is more than apparel — it is a symbol of gratitude, resilience and mateship.
Our ambition is to build a sustainable Australian veteran brand capable of generating meaningful, ongoing support for organisations and initiatives that directly help veterans and their families.
Because this isn’t simply about what we wear.
It’s about who we stand beside.
THEY STOOD FOR US.
THEY CONTINUE TO STAND FOR US.
NOW WE STAND FOR THEM.
