Well... that went bloody well. 😁🎤

Three Words landed exactly as I'd hoped at Stories That Stir Brisbane today. I had seven wonderful friends there supporting me, and I received some fantastic feedback afterwards from the organiser, fellow speakers and people in the audience.

There really is something extraordinary about standing in front of a room, taking off the emotional armour and simply telling the truth.

Another big step for TEAM NAKED. ❤️

Today’s the day! 🎤✨

I’m really looking forward to taking the stage at Stories That Stir Brisbane – COURAGE today.

Even more, I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces in the room and sharing this experience with you.

It’s a story that means a lot to me, and I’m ready to tell it.

I've realised that sometimes
"I'm just a private person"
actually means:
"I'm terrified of being hurt again."
Emotional armour can look remarkably sensible.
Sometimes fear has excellent public relations.

Isn't it strange?
We'll forgive someone else for being imperfect.
Yet punish ourselves for exactly the same thing.
Maybe being human was never something
we needed to apologise for.

I've noticed we often say: "I'm fine."
Not because we are.
Because explaining the truth feels harder.
Emotional armour can protect us.
But sometimes it also stops the people who love us
from reaching us.

I've realised something about courage.
The hardest conversations
rarely happen on stages.
They happen in kitchens.
Bedrooms.
Cars.
Between two people
who finally decide to say
what they've been afraid to say.

Isn't it funny?
We tell people to be themselves.
Then we judge them
when they show us something
messy, vulnerable or imperfect.
Maybe authenticity isn't about
showing people our best side.
Maybe it's about showing them
our real one.

I've noticed something.
The people who seem the strongest
are often carrying the most.
Strength isn't pretending
nothing hurts.
Sometimes strength is simply saying:
This hurt me.
And not being ashamed of it.

I’m going to ask a little favour of my Brisbane and Gold Coast friends. 💙
In just 10 days, I’m stepping onto the stage at Stories That Stir Brisbane to tell Three Words, one of the most personal stories I’ve ever shared.
But events like this only survive if people actually turn up.
Stories That Stir gives ordinary people a stage to tell extraordinary, honest human stories about the things we often keep hidden. The theme this month is COURAGE, and there’ll be six very different people sharing what that word means in their lives.
So if you’ve been following my TEAM NAKED journey and thinking you’d like to hear me speak one day...
Please make this the day.
I would genuinely love to look out into that audience and see some familiar faces. And more importantly, I’d love to see this wonderful event supported so it can continue giving people a place to tell stories that matter.
