SAT 4 FEB, 6PM: Strut | First Nations Fashion

STRUT is a creative collaboration between First Nations fashion designers Julie Appo and Linda Jackson AO, as the Moncrieff foyer is transformed into a catwalk featuring local fashions and models.

Julie (pictured) has multiple degrees in fashion and visual arts and a passion for flow fashion over fast fashion. She started her own small business, Best Dressed Art and has quickly made a name for herself across Australia.

Linda has been a pioneering figure in fashion design since the early 70s and is known for bold silhouettes and prints drawn from the Australian landscape, her spirituality, as well as rich collaborations with other artists. Jackson’s successful label, Bush Couture, has seen her working closely with Indigenous communities.
