Thank you to everyone who stopped by to view the window display and to those who reached out to share their impressions of ANANKE and SONNER, presented as part of Fremantle Design Week

As an artist, it’s meaningful to see the work inhabit a space beyond the studio, becoming part of the everyday landscape and offering a moment for people to pause, look, and experience it in their own way.

Grateful for the support and for the response this work has received.

BEHIND ANTHOLOGY

I needed a reason to believe again, but believing was never easy.
For a long time, I convinced myself that love simply didn’t exist. So I hid — from the world, from others, and perhaps most of all, from myself.

Yet, somewhere deep within my heart, a small light continued to shine.

It was born from every fall, every disappointment, every moment that broke something inside me. And somehow, those painful lessons made me wiser. I learned that healing sometimes means letting go of the things that hurt us, even when they are memories we once held close.

There were memories that hurt simply because I remembered them.

But one day, I looked up at the vastness of the sky and felt a peace I had been searching for all along. I stood barefoot on the earth and, for the first time in a long time, I truly felt grounded.

And then I understood.

The scars I carried were invisible, but they had not been left there to remind me of what I had lost. They were proof of everything I had survived.

And the light I could finally see shining from within my heart…

wasn’t the light of someone else’s love.

It was the light of my own self-love.

BEHIND THE LOOK- She looked at herself and, for the first time, recognised who she was.
She saw her scars.
Her roots.
Everything that had changed her.
She had spent so long trying to fit in that she had forgotten what it felt like to simply be herself.

Then she understood:

she didn’t need to find somewhere to belong.

She needed to belong to herself again.

Maybe she was just tired of becoming someone else to fit into places that were never home.

no necesitaba encontrar un lugar al que pertenecer.

Necesitaba volver a pertenecerse a sĂ­ misma.

BEHIND THE LOOK- He looked ahead.
He was no longer broken. No longer lost.
He closed his eyes and, in the middle of everything he had been through, felt something he thought he had lost awaken within him:

His strength.

No one saved him.
He saved himself.

And this time, he didn’t come back just to survive.
He came back to prove to himself that he could still get back up.
