Behind the scenes of our Glasshouse campaign 🌿

Before the final frame, there’s the hand-painted backdrop, a rail of carefully styled looks, a makeup chair full of laughter, and a team bringing it all together.

From reference images pinned to hangers to the last swipe of red lip, every detail was made to let this collection shine. Thank you to our incredible model, makeup artist and crew. It takes a village, and ours is pretty special.

From fleece to finished piece 🐑🧶

My work is on show at .artspace for , 16–25 October. It features the merino project I’ve been developing with Lisa Piller

The journey starts with fleece grown through regenerative farming at . From there it moved through every stage of processing here in Australia(which is such an amazing achievement by Lisa), until the knitted panels landed on my table, ready for me to create with.

I’ve worked with wool for most of my career, and I’ve never felt quality like this. The elasticity, the softness... the material seemed to breathe life before I’d even touched it.

The pieces draw on historical silhouettes, including an Elizabethan cardi, a medieval sweater and a jerkin, worked in moss stitch and rib, some of them dip-dyed.

The people behind our pieces matter just as much as the pieces themselves. To mark the end of the Glasshouse production run, our Vietnamese team, led by sisters Ely and Bin Minh, took a well-earned day out, dressed in the very Robinia silk organza they brought to life. We don’t think makers come any happier than ours.

I was asked by Lisa Piller to design three garments for her exhibit Walking in Circles, and the story behind the wool is as important as the pieces themselves.

This merino was regeneratively farmed right here in WA, then followed a fully onshore journey from fleece to yarn:
🧼 Scoured in South Australia
🌀 Carded, gilled and combed in Bacchus Marsh
🧵 Spun and knitted into panels in Ballarat
📍 Then home to WA, where I turned it into three finished garments

A full circle of Australian land, hands and know-how.
