💜⚡ GIVEAWAY TIME ⚡💜

With Round 16 marking Melbourne Storm’s inaugural Mental Health Round, we want to get behind the message in a meaningful way by helping someone get to the game.

We’re giving away 2 x adult GA tickets to Storm v Raiders this Sunday, June 21 at 4:05pm.

To enter, simply tag your Five-Eight - or someone you know who could really use a pick-me-up and may not otherwise be able to make it to the game.

We’d also love you to share this post to help spread the message around mental health and tackling tough together. Sharing is completely optional, but anyone who does will receive an extra entry. Our hope is simply that this post reaches someone who may need a reminder that they’re not alone and that support is always worth reaching out for.

THE FACTS:
⚡ Only 28% of men will seek mental health support from a professional or support service (e.g. psychologist, GP, phone helpline) or someone they know (e.g. friend, family member, religious leader, boss), compared with 50% of women

⚡ In Australia, around 1 in 2 people will struggle with their mental health during their lifetime.

⚡Australians can delay seeking support for up to 10 years

⚡Of those who delayed seeking professional support, almost half (49%) waited until they were very or extremely distressed before reaching out for help

⚡NRL players experience higher rates of mental health challenges than the general population

⚡ On average, nine Australians die by su***de each day, seven of them men

The Blue Tree Project began in Western Australia, encouraging communities to give a tree a “blue lease on life” in memory of those lost after battling depression or those who have experienced mental-health struggles. These bright blue trees now stand across Australia as powerful conversation starters, reminding people that mental health should never be a taboo subject.

Raising awareness around mental health is something that means a lot to us at Purple Reign. We’re also proud to partner with Five Eights Clothing Co, whose message encourages people to speak up and reminds them that they are never alone.
