This one hits very close to home. ❤️🧦
This October, Kidney Health Australia is asking us to move 60km for the Red Socks Challenge — 60km representing the 60+ hours people on dialysis can spend connected to a machine every single month.
For me, those hours aren’t just a number. They’re my reality.
Dialysis has become part of my life — hours sitting connected to a machine, week after week, while life outside keeps moving. Time away from my family, plans that have to work around treatment, days where I’m exhausted afterwards, and moments where I wish I could simply get up and go without having to think about dialysis first.
But I’m also incredibly grateful that dialysis is there to keep me going. ❤️
That’s why this challenge means so much more to me than walking 60km. Every kilometre represents an hour that someone like me spends in that chair. It represents kidney patients, our families, our nurses and everyone quietly living their life around kidney disease.
So this October, I’m going to do my best to move 60km my way — one kilometre at a time. ❤️
If you can walk with me, support me, donate or even just share this post and help raise awareness, it would mean more to me than you know.
60km. 60+ hours. One cause that is very personal to me. ❤️🧦.
