It didn’t take me long to decide whether to write this post or not.
I’m horrified at what the media have done to The Duchess of York this week.
As women especially, we have to say no to misogyny, as we’ve all been impacted by it since childhood. Why does society love to single out women in particular? If it makes us feel good, then the problem lies with us. We’re only fuelling violence against women.
I can only imagine the magnitude of this. When I saw the news, it reminded me of women in coercive control situations, who need to say whatever they can to literally survive. I’ve been in situations like that myself (a lot of women have) when we’ve had to publicly and privately praise a man we despise, just to keep ourselves safe. If you’ve ever been a victim of violence against women, you’ll understand.

Can we wait for some facts? Regardless of whether the reports are true or not, I’m disgusted at how quickly one woman is taken down. Especially someone who has done so much for children’s charities, for years. Fergie is one of the hardest working royals. Her work is relentless. In meeting her myself and the time I spent with her, I was impressed by her graciousness, her patience, and the amount of care that she had for so many, and some who only wanted a piece of her for their own gain. If any charity has actually “cut ties” with her, like the media suggest, then it’s the charities that need to take a look at themselves.
I stand with you. I see through people. I see you and I can’t be fooled. I saw who you were when there were no cameras, and no need for performance. I'll always admire you for everything you do. I know what it’s like to be taken advantage of for having a big heart. It’s the cold hearts that are rewarded and protected.

I have to speak up because this is exactly what Acala Stem stands for. This is why we exist – to dismantle inequality, misogyny and to support women. There’s no other agenda here in supporting the Duchess, other than sending a clear message that if we stay silent when a woman is singled out in a sea of others, then nothing will ever change.

Our night serum has finally landed! Almost two years in the making, formulated from all customer feedback, with avocado oil, broccoli seed oil and of course, our hero blue lotus oil.

Why did this take us so long? The journey to a completely palm oil free serum formulation wasn’t so easy. So many iterations to get the balance and consistency just right.
Many cosmetics contain palm oil derivatives. If a brand isn’t telling you it’s palm oil free, then it’s highly likely it isn’t.
The first release is in the trial 5ml size, so you can try it first before purchasing the 15ml bottle. The best part is, it’s made right here in Melbourne.

Whenever someone tells me they want to start their own business, I get so excited for them. Not for the money they could make, or the freedom they could have. It’s the certain people they’ll meet. People they could only meet after listening to their guides and chasing their dreams.

The best and most unexpected thing from starting .stem has been the beautiful souls I’ve been lucky to call friends, that could only be found on this long, lonely journey. It seems biblical that people are the reward for the hard work. Ultimately, it’s people and places that fulfill us the most. It’s never about possessions.

Thank you .dang_ for sending me these beautiful waterlily photos today from your family farm in Bình Thuận province, Vietnam. One day we’ll go there together. Zuong you’re one of those rewards on this journey.
Each time someone I know sees a blue lotus, they take a photo and send them to me. It’s something I’ll never take for granted 💙
