First Moon Circles First Moon Circles® is a Menstrual Education School girls. Find a circle, parent and child resources, or become a Certified Facilitator.

Our global network of facilitators host holistic menstrual wisdom circles & rites os passages for girls aged 9-12. First Moon Circles do period education differently. Weaving together the science, the sacred and sisterhood, First Moon Circles are a beautiful and empowering alternative to traditional period education featuring craft, conversations and a special parent-daughter celebration that educate children to thrive during puberty and the rite of passage of menarche (their first period). These informative, fun and inclusive spaces share wisdom, support, and foster community around girls and people identifying as female, and their parents / carers to disrupt the pattern of menstrual and body shame, and to bring periods and puberty out into the open. People with a passion for taking menstrual education outside of schools and the traditional sanitised format, who want to build community care and take a leadership role in empowering the next generation are being invited to train as First Moon Circle Facilitators, where they’ll learn about the power of celebrating rites of passages, menstrual cycle awareness for self and to teach to young people, how to hold safer and inclusive spaces that honour that it’s not just girls and women who have periods, and how to hold sacred circles that build confidence, resilience and self-knowledge. Wowww and this is just a drop in the ocean of what our facilitators are upto!!

I’m celebrating them all so hard - not just for the First Moon Circles they run, but the way they show up, they share, they do the inner work and embody what they teach into the world.

Honouring their own cyclical nature and showing what that looks like to everyone around them.

Showing up when it feels vulnerable, hard, when they wobble - because they know the impact they’re here to make matters more than their own hesitation.

Lifting each other up everywhere they go. Sisterhood healing is such an integral part of training with us - and then offering first moon circles. We want girls to feel safe in circle, and that might be the first time they’ve ever experienced that.

They’re shining bright, devoted and passionate, finding new ways to share their message - our message - and doing more than their bit in creating a positive, empowering, safe world in which girls can grow into empowered women.

Enrolment closes today! Final chance to train with us to become the wise women girls need now.

Picture yourself cresting a beautiful circle, candles lit, flowers, cushions laid out, soft music playing.

Opening the door and meeting girls with their mums, welcoming them, inviting them to sit with you.

Sharing a moon goddess story, colouring, beading, sharing menstrual wisdom, the super powers of their cyclical rhythm, how to honour themselves in every season as a lunar being,

Hearing mothers share wisdom, love, blessings with their daughters. Laughter, hugs, tears, hearts wide open, girls smiling where before there was nerves, awkwardness, uncertainty.

Witnessing mothers and daughters share close tender moments. Girls confident, empowered, positive about something they had only before thought would inevitably be a curse, something to suffer and secretly deal with.

Your own heart full. A life deeply on purpose. Fulfilment on a soul level. Another piece of your own heart healed from the experience you just gave to another.

Are you prepared for whatever might come up?
You’re not just teaching knowledge and wisdom. You’re holding an experience that will imprint a girl for life, through all her rites of passage.

🌹You have the power to make this a safe and sacred experience, held by an expertly trained guide.

Or the power to cause an imprint that teaches her female spaces aren’t safe. That rites aren’t safe. The energy of distrust.

We are actively healing the sister wound. Actively including, protecting, and guiding children. Actively giving them a sacred experience they most likely haven’t had before.

So let’s make sure we know exactly what we’re doing. And that we are prepared no matter what arises.

Whether we are triggered as space holder.
Whether she is nervous, anxious or needs accommodations.
Whether she is already carrying trauma, fear, shame.
Whether mum is bringing her own stories and fears into the circle with her.

There are so many good reasons we immerse deeply into all aspects of guiding children, teaching cycles, holding rites and facilitating educational spaces.

We’ve thought of it all. When you train with us,
we prepare you for the questions, scenarios and responses you haven’t even thought could come up yet.

What if a child asks you something you weren’t expecting?

What if a parent is nervous, challenges the content, or wants to know exactly how you’re keeping their child safe?

What if you’re worried about something a child says?

Do you know your duty of care?

Have you completed a risk assessment?

Do you have a referral pathway ready?

What if a child is neurodivergent, disabled, anxious, unsure about joining in, or needs a different way to learn and participate?

What if you wobble, forget what you were going to say, or feel triggered by your own menstrual story while you’re holding the room?

And what happens after the circle? Do you know how to debrief, protect your own facilitator wellbeing and make sure you’re not carrying everyone home with you?

If becoming a First Moon Circle® Facilitator has been circling in your heart, come and experience what you’re considering stepping into. 🌹

This Thursday, I’m opening the doors to First Moon Circle® School for a free live gathering — part ritual, part womb meditation, part sisterhood, and part honest conversation about what it really means to become a Certified First Moon Circle® Facilitator.

You’ll meet me and two of our facilitators, hear what changed for them personally AND in the work they’re now doing, ask your questions about the training, and get a real taste of how we gather and learn together inside the School.

But more than anything, I want to give you space to connect with your own knowing.

Why does this work keep calling you?

Who could you become through answering it?

The way a girl experiences her first period matters-
because it shapes who she becomes - for the rest of her life. And no - I’m not being dramatic here.

That period is not just a biological event - it’s a rite of passage. This is what our First Moon Circles® | Menstrual Education School for Children Facilitators know🌹

A threshold. A moment where she is asking, whether she has the words or not:

Am I safe in this body?
Am I seen in this change?
Do I still belong?
Can I ask for help?
Do my needs matter - or do I need to quietly figure this out alone and not put my concerns and questions on anyone else?

And the way she is met in that threshold can shape so much more than how she feels about periods.

It can shape how she relates to her body, how she holds boundaries, how she advocates for herself, how she practises self-care, how much respect she believes she deserves, and whether she grows up believing she has to manage everything alone.

It’s the moment a daughter keeps sharing with her mum - or starts keeping everything to herself, big and small.

Most of us went unseen and emotionally nurtured at this time. We were given silence, shame, awkwardness, secrecy, or just enough information to manage the blood - but not enough support to understand the true becoming.

But now times are changing - and what was taboo is being spoken about.

But when we’re learning what we didn’t have role-modelled for us, getting her first period right becomes another way we don’t feel good enough as mums. But mums, you dont need to figure this out alone, either.

In this week’s episode of Wild Flow, I’m joined by Kate Andrews, founder of Holistic education | Rites of Passage and author of Bodywise: A Puberty and Period Guide, for a conversation about period education, puberty and rites of passage for girls.

We talk about why girls need more than one awkward talk, why early body literacy matters, how to have these conversations and why adolescents need trusted adults, mentors and community around them as they grow.

Because information tells a girl what is happening.
But rites of passage help her feel held while it happens.
