Jason Beechey is the Head of Dance at the Zurich University of the Arts. Appointed in 2024, this follows 18 years as Rector of the Palucca University of Dance Dresden and having created the D.A.N.C.E. Programme under the artistic direction of Frédéric Flamand, Wayne McGregor, Angelin Preljocaj and William Forsythe. A graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School, he continued his training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy and the School of American Ballet.
He danced as a Soloist with London City Ballet, prior to 15 years with Charleroi/Danses in Belgium. There, he began his teaching career and became the Pedagogical Director.
Involved with the Prix de Lausanne since 2009, he was the 2021 recipient of the Ken McArthur Award for his exceptional contribution to the dance world from Canada’s National Ballet School and is a Board Member of the Dancer Transition Foundation of Germany.
The intensive is open to dancers aged 8 years and above, with age-specific classes designed to provide focused, age-appropriate training and individual development.
To ensure the highest quality training experience, places are strictly limited to 25 dancers per class. Auditions will close once each class reaches capacity.
Audition applications are now open via the link in our bio.
We look forward to welcoming aspiring dancers for four days of exceptional training with an outstanding international faculty.
