One of my favourite parts of what I do is sitting down with mums and hearing their real feeding stories.
Recently, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jasmine about her feeding journey with little Mia and how they came to use Minbie from just one week old.
Jasmine knew she wanted the flexibility to combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding, but like many mums, she was worried about finding a bottle that would support both. After trying other bottles, she chose Minbie because of our unique teat design and the way it encourages babies to latch and feed.
What I loved hearing was how straightforward she found it all. She told me that Mia took to the Minbie bottle immediately and that she never had any issues moving between breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
Jasmine also shared a story that made me smile. Her mum had always been against dummies and was convinced babies didn't need them. But when Mia was about a week old and struggling to settle, Jasmine's mum reached for a Minbie dummy and gave it a try. To everyone's surprise, Mia took it straight away and was instantly soothed.
As our conversation continued, Jasmine explained that the dummy became a really helpful tool between feeds. Like many new mums, she sometimes felt Mia was hungry whenever she became unsettled. Using the dummy helped give Mia comfort between feeds, allowing Jasmine to better space feeds and avoid overfeeding, which in turn helped with wind and discomfort.
One of the most rewarding things she told me was that she now recommends Minbie to friends who are struggling to find a bottle that works for their babies.
As a designer, there is nothing more meaningful than hearing stories like Jasmine's. Creating products that support families through the ups and downs of feeding has always been the reason behind Minbie, and I'm so grateful to mums like Jasmine for sharing their experiences with me.
Thank you, Jasmine, for taking the time to share your journey.
