Behind the scenes of building EKO Active from the ground up.

Late nights.
Big dreams.
And a lot of cardboard boxes.

Setting up the pick and pack station and getting ready for launch… it’s starting to feel very real.

Every order will be packed with intention, using natural materials and thoughtful details.

Most activewear arrives wrapped in plastic.
Ours doesn't.

Because what's the point of low tox activewear…
if it arrives wrapped in plastic?

Natural cotton packaging
Reusable
No unnecessary waste
Because at EKO Active, every detail matters.
From fabric to fit to packaging.
Intentional from start to finish.

I'm curious.....would you reuse this packaging?

I didn’t expect this to happen.
After months of telling everyone EKO Active would launch in April… I recently found out that won’t be happening.
Honestly, it was a bit heartbreaking to hear.
But here’s the reality of building something from scratch.
You see the cute content on Instagram.
The mock ups.
The samples.
The excitement.
What you don’t see are the hundreds of conversations behind the scenes about tiny improvements.
Adjusting patterns.
Perfecting the shelf bra.
Fixing small mistakes.
Making sure the fit, comfort and quality are exactly right.
And the beautiful team on the other side of the world who are sewing, testing and refining every piece.
I could push them to rush.
But I won’t.
They have families, friends, and lives outside of work, and they deserve to be well rested too. No launch date is worth burning people out.
So we’re taking the extra time to get it right.
Because when EKO Active finally lands, I want you to put it on and think…
“Okay wow… this was worth the wait.”
Thank you to everyone who has been following along, supporting, and cheering me on while I build this from the ground up. It truly means more than you know.
If you’re still here on this journey with me, drop a 🤎 below so I know and if you're new here, hi 👋

Move over polyester. Cotton can perform.
For the longest time while developing EKO Active I kept hearing the same thing.
“Cotton activewear won’t perform.”
“It won’t stay up.”
“It won’t be squat proof.”
“You need polyester for that.”
So I decided to prove it.
This set has been absolutely put through the ringer.
Harsh detergents.
Thrown in the dryer.
Left baking in the sun.
Covered in toddler grubby hands.
Dog hair everywhere.
Trained in, run in, worn almost every day since it arrived.
And guess what…
It’s still squat proof.
The waistband still stays up.
And it still performs.
Turns out cotton activewear can perform.
You just have to design it properly.
And to everyone patiently waiting for April, thank you.
Sustainable fashion takes time.
No corners cut.
No factories running workers around the clock.
Just thoughtfully made activewear that performs and doesn’t scream “eco”.
Launching April.

Your activewear shouldn’t only work for the gym.
Sunday gym session.
Brunch with friends.
Farmers market on the way home.
The same pieces. All day.
And the best part?
No plastic fabrics. Just high performance cotton that moves and breathes with you.
Launching April.
Limited slow fashion drop.

Activewear is marketed as health.
But fabric matters.
Many performance pieces are made from synthetic fibres linked to microplastic pollution and chemical treatments.
This is not about fear. It is about informed choice.
Choose natural fibres.
Check certifications.
Question heavy performance claims.
If this made you think differently, save it.
Share it with someone who cares about what they wear.

Packing the gym bag, but make it organic cotton.
The EKO Active leggings and sports bra were designed to perform just as hard as you do.
Squat proof leggings.
A waistband that stays exactly where it should.
A sports bra that holds you in through your toughest workouts.
Sewn in cups that stay put, even after washing.
All while being breathable, gentle on skin, and made primarily from organic cotton.
High performance activewear.
Without the plastic.
Launching April.

Most activewear is made from plastic.
We got used to wearing it on our bodies.
Sweating in it.
Stretching in it.
Living in it.
But performance no long has to mean polyester.
These flares are organic cotton.
Breathable. Soft. Strong.
Made to move with you, not stick to you.
Would you still choose plastic, if you knew you didn't have to anymore?
Send this to someone rethinking what they wear.

Today I walked through the Global Sourcing Expo and… wow. The activewear industry has a long way to go in the sustainability department.
No cotton activewear anywhere, and one “sustainable bamboo” stall couldn’t confirm if their bamboo was processed in a closed-loop system (aka: no harsh chemicals).
But the highlight of my day? Meeting the beautiful 🤍
Overall experience: 6/10 🌿
