Last week we celebrated Ruby’s primary school graduation.
I started 2 other dresses but they weren’t quite right, third time lucky and we both are obsessed with the final outcome.

❤️2025 Ballet & Dance Guild Concert ❤️

This year I designed and wrote instructions for 8 costumes and created 57 fabric packs to match.

Reviewed a previous ballet pattern, held 2 sewing workshops to teach parents how to sew it and co created over 50 ballet fabric fabrics with hundreds of meters of tulle. Thanks Lauren!

I also altered 7 blouses with zips and knickers to create leotards, altered some brought costumes, sewed some bloomers and arm puffs accessories and offered hours and hours of advice to other sewers and parents.

And finally, I made 20 costumes for my girls and some of their dancing besties!

All in all, I’m puffed, chuffed and oh so proud! I love watching the girls shine on stage! Thanks to the teachers who trust me to help bring their visions to life.

Being asked to sew a specail event dress is the most daunting task. This mumma asked for a traditional lace style custom dress for her daughter’s baptism. Mum provided the most beautiful beaded lace, pearl buttons and silk lining that I have ever worked with.
Lace skirt has an extended length layer. The lining has an inbuilt jumpsuit and skirt layer, all finished with French seams.

Junior Ballet Performance 2024


Each concert season I help design, draft, write instructions, make fabric packs and help sew costumes. It’s definitely a labour of love, but my girls are so proud to say, mum did it 🥰

I love getting the base idea from the dance teachers and seeing if I can bring their vision to life. When the ballet teacher asked my to design a 3D pumpkin that could transform on stage I thought I’d meet the impossible task, but after a few design tweeks it all turned out.

The Cinderella performance this year was a whimsical royal feast. 👑🩰

This year I sewed,
2 pumpkins
2 ellecorns (instructions from another mum)
1 gentleman of the court
4 ladies of the court ballgowns
and a bunch of alterations
