What an honour it has been for Liyan to be involved as a stall holder at the Aboriginal Health Conference 2026 in Boorloo (Perth). 💛🖤❤️
A huge thank you to the team at Rural Health West for creating such an important space for connection, learning, sharing and collaboration.
This year’s theme, “Healing Ourselves, Healing Country, Healing Community,” strongly resonates with the ethos of Liyan. We believe that health and wellbeing are interconnected — when we nurture ourselves, our families and our communities, we create stronger connections and healthier futures.
Across two inspiring days, the conference brought together Aboriginal health workers and practitioners, nurses and midwives, GPs, medical professionals, allied health professionals, academics, students, health organisations and community stakeholders to share knowledge and explore practical, community-led approaches to improving health outcomes.
The program explored important areas including community collaboration, chronic disease prevention and management, sexual health, lifelong wellbeing and traditional healing practices — all contributing to a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.
The day also included keynote speakers, including Thiinma Elder Peter Salmon and musician & linguist Rosie Sitorus, who shared stories of Country, culture, language and connection, and Brooke Blurton, whose work and advocacy spans mental health, Indigenous rights, youth and LGBTQIA+ visibility.
