People see the ambulance.
They rarely think about what happened before it arrived... or what the crew will carry home after the shift is over.
Last night we were back at Norwood Ambulance Station for another Debrief & Feed with a room full of SA paramedics.
No PowerPoint is going to erase the jobs they've attended and no presentation is going to undo years of shift work, trauma exposure, chronic stress and putting other people first.
But something as simple as sharing a meal, having honest conversations, offering some insights, tools and strategies and reminding each other that you're not carrying it alone can make more difference than most people realise.
That's why we do what we do.
A huge thank you to every paramedic who spent part of their evening with us.
Your willingness to have real conversations, look out for one another and invest in yourselves is exactly what makes this profession so special.
And as always, a massive thank you to Seaford Gourmet Meats for generously supporting our Debrief & Feed program by keeping everyone well fed.
Looking after the people who spend their lives looking after everyone else will always be worth our time.
