Super excited about entering my previous architectural work into the UNbuilt Award 2025.

Design Concept:

Inspired by 19th-century plein air painting methodologies – particularly their emphasis on environmental immediacy and observational practice – the concept translates painterly techniques into architectural operations. The stacked exhibition volumes operate as "three-dimensional canvases," while the performance space becomes an atelier sans murs (workshop without walls). This framework interrogates how spatial transparency can dissolve boundaries between artistic processes and their presentation.

The project ultimately redefines cultural architecture through plein air principles, establishing a replicable model for sites negotiating natural/built dichotomies. It demonstrates how historical art methodologies can inform contemporary spatial practice while expanding definitions of artistic performance.
