Over the past few months, two beautiful families have asked us if we stock pregnancy seatbelt positioners.
It’s such a valid question. When you’re growing a tiny human, because safety feels extra important.
After doing a lot of research, we made the decision not to stock pregnancy seat belt positioners (including products like Tummy Shield) because current Australian health guidance does not recommend them.
Here’s what is recommended:
✔️ Always wear a standard 3-point seatbelt
✔️ Position the lap belt low & snug across your hips/pelvis (under your bump)
✔️ Position the shoulder strap between your breasts & off to the side of your bump
✔️ Never place the belt over the top of your belly
Why not seat belt positioners?
Most Australian medical and road safety guidance emphasises that the safest option is wearing a correctly positioned standard seatbelt. Aftermarket devices that alter the belt’s position or routing have not been widely endorsed by Australian health authorities. Independent crash testing internationally has also raised concerns that some positioners may redirect crash forces in ways that could increase risk rather than reduce it.

We know comfort can become challenging as your bump grows. Adjusting your vehicle seat position (move it slightly back, keep good posture, adjust steering wheel height if possible) can make a big difference while still keeping you protected.
Your safety (and your baby’s) will always come first for us. If you ever want to chat through evidence, recommendations or products we choose not to stock, our door (and inbox) is always open.
Absolutely here to support you 🤍
