Top Tips for Caring for Your Tutu ✨
Your tutu is a special investment, and with a little care, you can keep it looking beautiful for years to come! Here are our top tips from the Tutu Palazzo team:
✨ Always store your tutu flat
Our tutus have a hoop throughout the skirt to create their beautiful, iconic shape, so they should never be folded for long-term storage.
✨ Store it under your bed
Under the bed is a great place to keep your tutu flat, safe and out of the way when it isn't being worn.
✨ DON'T store your tutu in a tutu bag
Tutu bags are fantastic for transport, but they're not designed for long-term storage. As many tutu bags are made from plastic, they aren't breathable and can trap moisture.
Instead, wrap your tutu in a clean cotton sheet or towel so it can breathe while being protected from dust and moisture.
✨ Air your tutu after every wear
Just like your pointe shoes, your tutu needs a little time to breathe! After wearing it, take it out of its bag and allow it to air in a safe, dry space before storing it away.
✨ Creased net edges? Don't panic!
If your net edges become a little creased, place your tutu inside its tutu bag and carefully lay books along the net edges. Leave it overnight and the net should be looking beautiful and refreshed by morning.
