La Punk Project

La Punk Project LA PUNK is an Australian design-led personal care brand creating natural, refillable everyday essentials with plastic-free packaging.

From lip balms and deodorant to healthier-home ideas and The RESET Club, we’re building better choices for everyone. This is a story about friendship and a joint love of travel, fashion, design and beautiful natural textiles. When Natalie Knoll and Macayla Chapman met in Sydney in 2012, little did they know that they were starting an Antipodean success story that would take their resort wear from

Australia and New Zealand to the floors of Harvey Nichols, Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods and Four Seasons Resorts. Regardless of the season, Bird & Knoll’s resort-wear envisages the quintessential elements of the beach or a tropical resort. Their collections are crafted in the highest quality lightweight silks and cottons to pay homage to the laissez-faire attitude of the co-founders’ coastal lifestyles - pieces designed to flow easily from vacation to everyday - feminine luxury with multitasking functionality. Now a seasonal favourite with the discerning woman with a penchant for wanderlust and timeless luxury, these beautifully wearable, mood elevating pieces bring a sense of whimsy and escapism into our wardrobes. Designed by women for women, there is a distinct understanding of how women want to feel when they dress – empowered but feminine and thoughtful in intention and details.

“The Bird & Knoll woman seeks pared-back sophistication and assured femininity but with a playful nod to travel through colour and details. We immerse ourselves in our creative mood-boards and infuse our designs with the feeling and romance of walking down a Puglian alleyway, or the sensation of the sun on your arms in Mexico, the scent of Bougainvillea in Tulum or Greece - A sensory and tactile realisation of our inspirations and adventures. There is a lot of us in her - she has a multi-faceted life and her statement needs to be versatile, but with flourishes of romantic sensibility.” – Natalie Knoll and Macayla Chapman.

Based in Sydney, LA PUNK PROJECT is an Australian design-led personal care and lifestyle brand exploring healthier homes, natural personal care and refillable, plastic free packaging.

This month we go deeper into this quest for a healthy home and better choices. We will be sharing practical advice from friends and experts, hearing about the small changes that genuinely work for them and ideas we can all try in real life.

This isn’t about expensive overhauls but rather we want useful information, more considered choices and everyday changes that can make our homes feel better.
And as September unfolds, we’ll also begin revealing the refillable personal care products we’ve been building in Australia.

Looking back over this month we are reminded that rituals are rarely dramatic and overbearing. They are built from simple moments repeated over time. Those small decisions that shape our homes and our families and even the way we move through the world.

That is where LA PUNK began too. Not with products but with an idea that the objects we live with every day should deserve a place in those rituals.

In September, we’re excited to finally introduce them.
Until then, thank you for joining us as we explored the everyday moments that inspired everything we’ve built.

After a month spent talking about rituals we are keen to see what earns a permanent place in our own lives.

The habits we keep and the objects we return to every day tell us far more about how we want to live than the things we’re constantly encouraged to add. LA PUNK is about better products and healthier homes.

We want to hear all about your rituals and the essentials you can’t live without.

One of the reasons we started The RESET Club was because the best ideas often come from seeing how somebody else lives.

A ritual that works in one home can inspire a completely different change in another, allowing a simple idea to travel much further than the person who first shared it.

A friend once said try to sit and enjoy your coffee.. instead of racing off to the next meeting. We’ve started taking a moment to stop, whenever we can, and set our intention for the day. Or even just day dream.

Choose one. Choose better. For the future.

We have become accustomed to objects being replaced before they have had the chance to become familiar. We are much more interested in things that become better through use, carrying the marks of everyday life rather than being discarded when something newer arrives.

The future of good design is not always about creating the next big thing. We think it might also be about creating something people genuinely want to keep and covet.

The things we keep closest are usually the things that serve us well.

A good ritual doesn’t need much around it, just a few essentials that feel considered, useful and easy to return to.

That idea sits at the heart of LA PUNK: fewer things, chosen well. We want our essentials to be naturally good for us and for the planet.

The objects and products we reach for every day often become part of our rituals without us noticing. Our goal is to curate a home, the place we spend most of our time, as our sanctuary.

We want to choose better when it comes to what we eat, put on our skin and surround ourselves with every day.

We want to know what products you can’t do without?

The cream runs out but the packaging remains.

The everyday objects in our bathrooms can become almost invisible, but each one carries a story, what it’s made from, how it’s packaged and where it goes when we’re finished.

We don’t need to replace everything overnight. Use what you have, then choose the next more intentionally.
