[email protected] Personally have been dealing with the issues surrounding having a loved one in custody for now over seven years , I have dealt with the struggles of my own mental health and all attached, whil

st being a mother , while dealing with courts , ongoing issues with my partner from the day to day custody life, as well as addressing the department/ corrective services NSW even when the door of communication has been slammed in my face just to force myself to dig deeper and find another way around it. We fight so hard for our loved ones , but we never fight for ourselves , we seem to allow everyone to judge us for staying and/or continuing to support our loved ones whilst they are in custody and never seem to stand for ourselves and to have the right of having the judgment and stigma for us to be stopped. For a long while I have wanted to bring awareness of the judgment and the stigma surrounding staying and supporting a loved one in custody , it being that of such a taboo topic , with almost fear being attached to it, I always thought to myself how can I bring awareness and what can I do and or create to be a conversation starter , to the truth behind what we as a Jail Wife / Husband / Support System truly do go through without glamourizing any of it , and bring awareness to the struggles we face every single day whilst our loved ones are in custody , then it hit me. I have created some stunning designs , to bring awareness and have a conversation starter. Stay strong my loves ,
They cant keep them forever.

Supporting those , supporting them.
Having a loved one in custody is hard enough on its own , especially when the stigma surrounding it says talking about the struggles is something that shouldn’t be spoken about. It’s time to change that completely , it won’t happen unless we all come together

With the recent news of an inmate being stabbed at a facility in the states central west the The Waiting Room Collective has decided to open the opportunity up for some of those who are interested to be able to get their own stories / awareness of what life is like for those who have loved ones in custody and also those who have been in custody and experienced it themselves via our upcoming Podcast that is due to release its first episode in a few weeks time.

It’s entirely your decision on how your story is told - you can either be on a recorded call conversation with us or you can email your story in and we can read it out for you. The choice is yours on if you would like your name attached to it or not just let us know.

The opening up of this opportunity would mean that the original content will be pushed back to have this as the priority.

You are not alone , and the fact is that this happening is something that every single one of us with loved ones in custody worry about every single day regardless of how “big and bad” our loved ones may be.

If you are interested in being involved in telling your story and bringing awareness to this please reach out asap via our inbox or email us at [email protected]

Our thoughts, prayers and will wishes are with the individual who this has happened to and his family, no matter what the situation and circumstances may be , no one deserves to have this happen to them , especially not whilst at their most vulnerable and serving a custodial sentence.

There are thousands of people across Australia quietly serving a sentence they were never given.

The partners counting down the days.
The parents travelling hours for a visit.
The children missing a parent.
The siblings, grandparents and friends holding everything together while carrying the weight of judgement, loneliness and uncertainty.

Too often, these stories go unheard.

That's why I'm creating The Waiting Room Collective Podcast.

A safe, supportive and judgement-free space where the voices of those with loved ones in custody can finally be heard.

This podcast will share real stories, honest conversations, lived experiences and messages of hope from people who truly understand what this journey feels like.

Whether you're supporting a partner, child, parent, sibling or friend in custody—or you've experienced incarceration yourself—I want this to be a place where you know you're not alone.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more about the podcast and inviting members of our community to be part of it by sharing their stories in a way that feels right for them.

Together, we can challenge stigma, create understanding and remind one another that every story matters.

Thank you for being here from the very beginning. 💙

Our prayers go out to the family members of this young man.

The death of a 21-year-old Aboriginal man at Clarence Correctional Centre is a tragedy.

We are in the midst of a deaths in custody crisis. A record number of Aboriginal people died in custody across NSW last year, and we’re on track to repeat that shameful record this year – if not break it.

The blame for this crisis must be placed firmly on the Minns Government. This government is presiding over the highest Aboriginal imprisonment in NSW history. Prisons are full, the system is on the brink of collapse, and we are terrified about the consequences for our clients.

🤍 **THE WAITING ROOM COLLECTIVE – REVIEW TEAM WANTED** 🤍

Our very first shipment is officially on its way! 📦✨

To celebrate, I'm looking for **5 amazing women** to become the first official reviewers for **The Waiting Room Collective**.

Each selected reviewer will receive **either a crewneck or a hoodie** to wear, test, and review.

**What's required?**
✨ Wear your crewneck or hoodie in everyday life.
✨ Provide honest feedback on the fit, comfort, quality, and overall wear.
✨ Wash and wear it as you normally would, then let me know how it holds up.
✨ **Photos are required.** You'll need to send through clear photos of yourself wearing your crewneck or hoodie, as these will be used to help showcase The Waiting Room Collective across our social media and website.

I'm not looking for perfect influencers—I'm looking for real women from this community who understand what this brand stands for.

If you'd love to be one of our **5 reviewers**, comment below or send me a message with:
🤍 Your size
🤍 Whether you'd prefer a **crewneck** or a **hoodie**
🤍 A sentence or two about why you'd love to be part of this journey.

Your feedback will help shape future collections and ensure every piece we create is something our community can wear with pride.

Thank you for supporting this dream from the very beginning.

**Because no one should have to do the waiting alone.** 🤍

PTSD isn’t just a memory.
It’s a full-body response.

For many of us sitting in The Waiting Room , waiting for a phone call, waiting for court, waiting for answers, waiting for our loved one to come home

A trigger can happen in an instant.

A prison number flashing across the screen.
An unknown caller.
A knock at the door.
A court date approaching.
A missed phone call.

The moment itself may only last seconds, but the impact can stay for hours, sometimes days.

Your heart races.
Your stomach drops.
Your mind spirals.
You replay every worst-case scenario imaginable.

This is the reality of trauma. It’s not being dramatic. It’s not overreacting. It’s your nervous system trying to protect you after carrying more than it was ever meant to.

To everyone carrying the invisible weight of loving someone in custody, navigating the justice system, or living with the scars of trauma:

We see you.
Your feelings are valid.
Your body remembers what your heart is trying to survive.

Be gentle with yourself today. Healing isn’t linear, and surviving difficult seasons takes strength that often goes unseen.

💜 If this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone in The Waiting Room.
