Does it ever feel like you haven’t stoped but you cant see where you’ve been?
Last year, I had put 100,000km on a car in 8 months, back and forth to the camp. Cleaning at either end, keeping things alive at either end of the trip just for them to get dirty & need keeping alive again the next day all why giving my kids an American accent from the amount of frozen & trolls replayed on those car trips.
(Rowdy was in my belly actually) feeling like a s**t mum that did no fun things most days.
The girls & I and super nanny Steph didn’t stop but why did we have wiggly loose wires around my house paddock close enough to see from the house, a dead lawn & frantic order packing and beef delivering thrown into the middle instead of a calm system. Because I don’t no how to do adulting to be honest.
What productivity use to look like isn’t here anymore. No longer the one putting up shinny new fencing & pulling weaners off & leaving paddocks with branding claves & a tidy mob. When you are made for building not solely maintaining, it all feels like your running on a tread mill some days. Some people are good at routines. Some are in need of adventure & something to break their year up. The constant urge to run away & go mustering or catch a bull will have your lawn dead, a messy shed & no cattle fed 😂 (always with the rhymes)
So I think the secret is that in order to not be such a sad loser we have to do some things that are there to stay. So that if ever asked what we have achieved all year, we have receipts.
Even if the house gets messy that week.
Even if the car if full of bull dust.
Even if it’s frustrating trying to nail the shape of the pattern & get the fit exactly correct. Even if you have kids that are climbing you like a tree while you do it or animals & things that need your attention. They would have been climbing you like a tree doing anything.
If you are at home doing the boring s**t I see you and I am proud of you.
You are doing a lot more than you give yourself credit for.
Now, I think you should celebrate by knocking that thing down that’s annoying you and building a new one.
That might look like designing/inventing that thing you have had in your mind for a while. Just doing the thing that will make you feel fulfilled & add some landmarks to life.
In the comments show me some things you built this year with your mind, with your hands. Maybe it’s horses, houses stuff, gardens, businesses, steel or wood. Definitely use this as a place to promote your new business you are building.
Show me some BUILDing BABY!!!!
Over here it’s some new products patterns for Tusik (jeans & our new rugby ruggers)
A heart project with friends RDR (have a look)
Some setting up for a better clinic running and horse training facility & an epic thing involving Chase N acres & horses 🐎 ✌🏼🤍 some gardens & green lawns. That’s what’s kept our year relevant, that’s what we will look back and remember 💅 I made a reel but I feel like people don’t read the thoughts I had a 4am if I put the video so it’s going in the comments instead 🤙🏽
