Thank you to all the wonderful stallholders at Sunday’s event. The quality of what you do is so high, from your wares to your stall presentation to your professionalism. This is also echoed in the feedback from customers on the day!

This was the last of the Brisbane City Council Sponsored Racecourse Road Pop Up Markets and we thank everyone involved, especially Nikelle.

Thank you to the customers that came in and who supported the amazing handmade & slowly made Brisbane Designer and Maker community.

PLOYS idea started from having discarded pool toys and inflatables, that were either punctured or “just not played with anymore” on the side of Carin’s & Gerhard’s pool at home. “We just couldn’t throw away all this plastic, knowing that PVC is one of the worst products to decompose, taking up to a 1000 years to disintegrate”. Which in return also tells us that PVC is a sturdy and durable material to repurpose and transform into something unique and functional!

Ploys started transforming PVC into school pencil cases and coin purses from their own pool toys, followed by designing and creating larger items such as tote bags. Now the collection has grown to include a variety of unique products such as handbags, toiletry bags, swim and sports bags and has even expanded into fashion, with clothing made from upcycled fabrics combined with pool inflatable designs and applique.

We have umbrellas and stools for you to sit on or why not have a little lunchtime picnic? If dessert is on your mind, head over to Pick a Cake or indulge in a gelato from Milani House of Gelato.

Eccentric Republic is the dynamic design duo of Sarah and Maeike, Brisbane based besties. They absolutely love colour and their artwork and products are a testament to this. They are digital artists and have their fabric printed in Melbourne and their cards at local Brisbane printers. All the eco-resin products, cushions, wall hangings and bags are made by them in their Brisbane studio. Their design aesthetic is a little Scandi, harking back to vintage Ikea, with a pinch of Japanese influence thrown in. They believe that interior design should be as much about self-expression as fashion is.
Home should be filled with colourful curios and emotive trinkets that warm the heart and remind you of wonderful days and treasured people.

Schmoock is the result of a chronic earring obsession, a background in carpentry, and a love of tools and handmade design. The name comes from my German roots—“Schmuck” simply means jewellery. From Susie’s Red Hill studio, she creates unique resin earrings and homewares with colour, texture, and functionality in mind. Each piece is crafted to brighten everyday life—whether it’s your outfit or your table. She gets real joy from seeing an average outfit transformed by bold earrings. Susie’s motto? Always wear funky earrings. You never know who you’ll bump into!

Rebecca’s brand is rooted in the art of handmade craftsmanship, focusing on the unique process of creating one of-a-kind shapes and glazes. The world around her, with all its beauty and irregularity, has shaped her inner world. Now more than ever, she feels compelled to express her deep love for form, texture, pattern, and colour —a tribute to the connection between the external and the internal in all pieces. It is important for Rebecca to inspire people with her crafted pieces, whether that is to get home and be creative or enjoy a little piece of her craft on their table.

As a Brisbane-based embroidery artist Izabella creates unique jewellery pieces and textile art objects incorporating silk, cotton, felt and beading, focusing primarily on reusing scrap materials or remnants. Her work is a blend of traditional embroidery techniques with a contemporary art aesthetic. Each item is completely handsewn and one-of-a-kind. Izabella’s aim is to produce work that makes people feel good and brings a smile to their face when they wear it.
