Do you remember what was your first garment you ever made?

This is the actual first pattern I made all by myself way back in 1972.
I chose a woollen tartan just like the one in the photo.
A daring choice as it was cut on the cross/bias which makes the fabric a little unstable but give a nice floaty effect.
It was cut out using pinking shears to stop the fabric fraying. No over lockers back then.

Probably wore yellow tights too 😜
Note the waist size but I was 10 years old

It was sewn on my Mum’s Singer sewing machine. Which I still have that too!!🤪

So today was a different one for me
I attended the Melbourne Renfair in Yarra Glen helping a friend with her stall. Weavings & Wise Women's Works
Was a wonderful day of meeting people and chatting about their costumes. Selling wands, staffs and other whimsical things
If you ever get a chance to go to an event like this you won’t be disappointed 🧙🏼‍♀️🧝🏼‍♀️🧌🧚🏼‍♀️

It started as a beautiful morning 🌅for a market
But a few k’s down the road from home my car decided it wasn’t going to take me there.

So unfortunately I won’t be at either or markets
