🧵Here are the results of the beginner sewing class for kids held at Wonga Park Community Cottage early this week.

🧵The kids learnt the parts of the machine, how to thread the machine and for some how to troubleshoot when things go wrong.

🧵We started with fabric with lines as a guide to sewing straight which is always a bit tricky.

🧵We then moved on to our pin cushion project which covers a variety of skills.

🧵They were then finished with a button which covered learning how to hand sew.

🧵Then it was time to experiment with their own ideas and explore the fun of sewing.

🧵 The kids all chose what they wanted to do which resulted in trying out different sewing techniques, making a cushions and even a tote bag.

🧵The results speak for themselves.

Day 1 of School Holiday Sewing Classes

After putting the final touches to their pin cushions from last term
It was purple heart 💜 cushions all around.

And an added bonus was the home cook sourdough loaf 🍞 they brought along as a thank you 🙏🏼
