August, you were a good one. 🤎

What a month of fashion, people, places and plenty of moments worth remembering. Between exciting new arrivals, days spent on James Street, moments with our incredible team and everything happening across Calexico and Calexico Man, August gave us a lot to love.

This month, we also wanted to shine a light on the city we’re lucky enough to call home. celebrating some of our favourite local businesses, Brisbane spots and the people who make our community what it is. Supporting local has always been important to us, and there’s something pretty special about seeing Brisbane continue to evolve, while still feeling like home.

Twenty years in mining, an industry that didn’t always leave room for women and Maria Catena Joyce has spent every one of them leading. Maria is our August Muse of the Month.

She’s since led through some of the toughest periods the industry has seen, often the only woman in the room and never once softened who she is to fit it. These days that shows up as a Blazé Milano blazer, Gianvito Rossi boots and a bag that’s just as likely to hold high vis as it is a cashmere polo. We asked Maria about leadership, style and what she’s still building after two decades in.
