Dave also enjoys cowboy action shooting and creates gunbelts and holsters to specifications and safety. AND anything that can be crafted, moulded and brought to life using leather!

They say if you want to see what someone is made of, watch how they handle a storm. Between Dave’s health hurdles, the constant roar of construction next door, and the daily grind of running a small business, the last 12 months have been a massive test of our "cinch."

But Dave and I have always seen ourselves as a bit of a "Fixer Upper" team. He brings the legendary craftsmanship at the bench, and I bring the vision to keep us moving forward. Together, we’re the "Saddler and Me" team, and we are more committed than ever to putting Wondai on the map.

Saddler’s Rest We aren't just surviving the setbacks; we’re building something better. We are evolving from a workshop into a destination. A true rest stop for our clients, our community, and anyone passing through the South Burnett who appreciates quality and a bit of country hospitality.

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Vince from Retro Espresso! Soon, you’ll be able to grab an amazing coffee right here at the shop. It’s the first piece of the "Saddler’s Rest" puzzle, and we can’t wait for you to see it.

We saw a few of you caught the news over on Matthew Clifford’s page last night—and we couldn't be more excited to confirm it! 🤝

We are officially partnering with Matt and the team at Fancy Stepping Performance Horses to bring a new level of versatility to the arena. The "M.Clifford Special Series" is the latest addition to our DEX Range (David Earle Custom Saddles), designed specifically for the rider who needs to do it all—from the precision of Reining to the grit of Cow Horse and Ranch work. 🐎💨

Matt’s dedication to "Fancy Stepping" performance is the perfect match for Dave’s "Saddlers Rest" philosophy.

We are currently waiting for the custom-built tree to arrive—the vital first step in ensuring this saddle delivers the "Comfort, Balance, and Confidence" we’re known for.

In October 2022, sitting right here in Wondai, we penned a philosophy that has defined every saddle Dave has built since: Comfort + Balance = Confidence (C+B=C).

It wasn’t a marketing gimmick or a magazine headline—it was a promise to the riders who trust us with their performance and their horse's comfort. We’ve spent nearly four years proving this formula in the arena and on the trail. We hear it all the time, but when it comes from a rider like Kenzie (Kenzie equine) who spends her life in the saddle, it means everything. Kenzie recently told us that riding in her David Earle Custom is like “sitting in an armchair”—the perfect balance of all-day comfort and the security you need when you’re working horses.

Based down in NSW, Kenzie is doing incredible work with a variety of going horses across different disciplines. She’s already been a huge supporter of our craftsmanship, and we are so proud to officially welcome her as a Brand Ambassador.

We're incredibly proud to be supporting Tiani as she and Deb prepare to represent Australia at the World Titles for Extreme Cowboy Racing in Texas! 🇦🇺🤠🇺🇸

What better combination than grit and grace? Tiani and Deb embody both, and we can't wait to see them take on the world stage.

It's also pretty special knowing one of our saddles and our gear will be making the journey to Texas. Just look at how beautifully Tiani's saddle has aged. Quality leather, years of hard work, and countless miles have given it the character that only comes from being ridden and loved.
