What’s in a name? Why change to Frankie & Tayte?

Peace Lava Happiness is where it all began.
After the birth of our first daughter, I was sleep deprived, feeling a little lost in myself, and craving something creative that was just for me. So I started making beaded bracelets with lava stones for essential oils.

What began as selling to friends quickly grew into market days, pop-up stalls and more. Creativity has always been part of who I am, so I taught myself to make small-batch crystal candles, foot and bath soaks, and then expanded into selling hand crafted 925 sterling silver jewellery.

Then our second daughter arrived.
My body had changed — I was curvier and staying that way. That sparked something new in me: a passion for sourcing and offering stylish, size-inclusive fashion for rural women who deserve options, confidence and choice.
Peace Lava began to evolve.
Slowly. Intentionally. Sustainably.

With the addition of our boutique space and the growth of our curated brands, I knew it was time for a name that reflected where we were headed — not just where we’d been.
We still honour our beginnings. Our candles, beaded bracelets and jewellery remain under the PLH logo.
But to move forward, we needed a new chapter.

Frankie & Tayte is named in honour of my daughters — Camille Frankie & Everly Tayte.
They are my why.
They inspire me to show them that dreams don’t have deadlines. I’m 44 — and this didn’t happen overnight. It hasn’t unfolded perfectly or easily. But it has unfolded.

I want my girls to believe in themselves.
To know their worth.
To stand up for what they believe in.
To set goals — and know they can reach them, even if it takes time.

Frankie & Tayte is more than a name.
It’s a reminder that we’re allowed to grow, change and dream bigger. ✨

And if sharing this space helps even one woman feel confident, seen, or brave enough to back herself — then it’s all been worth it. 🤍
