Our beloved children, the precious flowers of our hearts; our proud young warriors; our conscience-stirring honorable teachers; and the gentle, innocent guardiansโ
those whom we have lost, and those who lie in bed severely burnedโ
may their heartbreaking sacrifices strike the whip of repentance upon our national conscience!"
Allah the Almighty has addressed the topic of calamities from various perspectives throughout the Qur'an. For the discerning believer, these verses provide not only psychological comfort but also clear instructions on what should be done.
Yet, instead of facing the situation with sincere hearts, humane compassion, and spiritual depth, we have plunged into materialistic over-talking, sensational disorder, and pointless political commentary.
Instead of visible dignity in mourning, what has appeared is unsolicited social and political uproar.
Where there should have been patience (sabr), repentance (tawbah), seeking forgiveness (istighfar), prompt initiatives, swift decisions, enhanced services, and comprehensive analysis and planningโ
we are witnessing only chaos and instability.
This nation has no ideological leader to guide with a unifying messageโno spiritual guide to awaken the heart!
Soon, youโll see that time will pass, and those hyped emotions will gradually fade. No continuity of action will remain. A new issue will emerge.
The opportunity to learn from this tragedy will remain elusive, unreachable.
O Almighty Allah! Grant them Jannah (Paradise)!
And grant us the ability to repent and act with sound wisdom! Ameen."
