The Beginning of Jamdani — stay with তন্তুবায়- Tantubai

Long before fashion had a name, there was a loom by the river.
On the banks of the Sh*talakkhya near ancient Dhaka, artisans began weaving dreams into air-light cotton. Using only hands, patience, and imagination, they created motifs that seemed to float on fabric—this was the birth of Jamdani.
Each pattern was woven thread by thread, without sketches, guided only by memory and mastery. Flowers, vines, geometry—stories of nature and life slowly took shape on the loom. What began as everyday craft soon became royal attire during the Mughal era, treasured for its rarity and finesse.

At Tantubai, we stay rooted in that beginning—
where heritage met human hands,
where time slowed down,
and where Jamdani first learned to breathe.
