As per Eurostat, from January to March 2026, the EU experienced apparel imports negative growth of -11.62%, totaling €21.09 billion. This growth was driven by a -5.53% decline in volume (million kg) and a -6.44% decrease in average unit prices (euro/kg) for the year 2026.
Bangladesh saw a decrease in its apparel exports to the EU, reaching €4.59 billion, decrease from €5.69 billion in 2025. The country recorded a -19.26% negative growth in export value, driven by a -8.32% decrease in volume, a -11.93% decrease in unit price. When comparing March 2025 with March 2026, there was a -19.24% decline in value, a -3.29% decrease in volume, and a -16.49% drop-in unit price.
In contrast, other countries such as China, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Cambodia also showed a negative growth trend. China increased its apparel exports to the EU to €6.14 billion, marking -7.90% negative growth in value, a -6.95% decline in unit price, and a -1.02% decrease in volume. Turkey faced a -18.92% decrease in its apparel exports to the EU, amounting to €1.83 billion, and Vietnam recorded -2.12% negative growth, reaching €1.05 billion in exports with a 5.43% increase in unit price.
