I felt it was time to put up the building of the kitchen, designed / built by the school and local mhandisi Timon Kamazima. It should provide a much better environment for the very hard working cook, over 8000 meals a week.
The building and new stoves will see the school for many years to come. The stoves are gas ready as is required. One of the photos shows how carefully we blended the building to fit into the space.

So what has happened in the last 6 months I hear you ask... more building underway, revamp of the computer room with UPS...

So what has happened in the last 6 months I hear you ask... more building underway, revamp of the computer room with UPS and generator dedicated to the room now we can keep going no matter what the power supply is going, the remote power and water shed is finished just waiting to be fitted out, the kitchen trusses have now been designed and the roof is going on as I write, we have been designing and trialing a monkey proof veggie garden as we now have a troop of around 50 move in and they are decimating the school shamba, repair of the aluminium doors that see a lot of use and a rebuild of the well used Honda generator.... The new tank stands for the tank farm under construction and installation of a rain water distribution system pump. we have also installed gas Bunsen burners in the chemistry lab.

Form 1 started agriculture looking after their group plot. We'll see who can grow the best vegetables.
