Born and raised in Brazil, Kellen had her first occupation in the world of fashion at the age of 18. Later she studied Fashion Design and Modeling in Portugal. She also lived in Mexico where she was part of the artist collective "ModoPactua". Besides of starting collaborations with other Mexican artists, she decided to create her own brand Nahual. Her creations are influenced by a great variety of
subjects, from architecture to nature, from ancient techniques to contemporary art … A constant search between popular Latin American traditions in textile and handcraft, mixed with her peculiar vision and asthetic. The collections have as fundamental principle - to create awareness and consciousness about environmental problems by the sustenable use of recycled waste materials such as inner tubes, plastics, paper or fabric and biomaterials. Nahual's mission is to merge unconventional and recycled materials with constant experimentation, resulting pieces that reflect attitude and personality.
