Vacation time coming up! I'm going to take some time off July 27th - Aug 8th, which means anything dropped off in the next couple of weeks will be returned mid-August. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
I really appreciate all my wonderful clients and I very much enjoy the work I do, I just need a bit of time to get caught up with house and garden work, and maybe visit the beach!

My friend and student just finished making 7 vests for her grandchildren, she wove the fabric herself! Great job Josie!

I had a really fun weekend sewing with a friend and working on projects for myself. I managed to complete a wall hanging that I started at a Highland Quilt Guild workshop, assemble a quilt top (it still needs to be quilted), make myself a top, and cut out a dress for myself.

Things have been busy in the studio lately with the upcoming high school graduation and wedding season! I appreciate everyone that has shared my contact information. I try to get things back to people within 2 - 3 weeks of when they drop them off to me but I can also do rush jobs if needed.

I have openings for sewing lessons, ages 10 and up, so if you would like to do some parent and child lessons over the summer, or if your child and a friend would like to come make a project please get in touch to discuss my availability.

Kate Thomson offers sewing lessons in her Maryvale studio. These lessons are directed by the student & vary depending on their level of experience.

With the cost of everything rising I'm afraid I too need to make a small increase to my fees. For any work received after June 1st my prices will be as follows:

- $20 / hour plus 20% to cover my overhead, for alterations and special orders of clothing, interior decorating and quilts.
- $18 for a basic hem of pants (but if you bring several pairs at the same time I will charge my hourly rate which reduces the cost)
- Lessons for new clients will be $22 / hour or $55 for 3 hours. Clients that are already coming for lessons will continue at the current rate.
