Custom fit for peace officer. The velcro attachment was very thick and rubbing under the chin. We cut in half and added a soft cotton backing to prevent that sharp edge from digging in.... Poor design flaw. But hopefully this alteration will feel much better to wear!

A couple things that were made by me this year (2026) include a cravat (neck tie) done in the 19th century fashion (albeit with much less fabric) and upcycled from scraps from other projects and recycled fabric. Also 19th century fall front breeches (unlined) with side pockets (also made with upcycled 100% cotton bedsheet). The waistcoat made in the longer fashion (18th century) and empire waist regency dress were made last year using new and second hand fabrics. Over 25 hours of sewing, and lots of fun and mistakes along the way!

Not just sewing here but also upcycled projects and finding ways to reuse or update items to be loved again.
I got this frame on bidding wars and put in a print that my dad found (I believe so at a thrift store) and held onto for years before I took it and kept it for years. Now it has a proper home.

I also make petticoat skirts like the one shown which fit multiple sizes so you can grow or shrink with it without having to get a new skirt. Made the same way they did in the 18th century which makes it historically accurate as well.... However, I will use a sewing machine!

Great idea! Especially for quilters
