Laughter is one of the best forms of therapy and sometimes all we need is a smile to keep our heads up. Kindness is loaning someone your strength instead of reminding them of their weakness and failures.
Be that one. That one who forgives, even when it feels impossible.
Peace is not something you wish for. It’s something you make, something you do, something you are and something you give away.

Happy rainy Wednesday. My favorite kind of day. (If I don’t have to be out working in it anyways.) Just a few of my rambling thoughts I took from my Notes app and put them together here. I am not a very witty or perfect person but once in awhile I’ll have a tiny bit of a thought so I’ll write it down and eventually come up with a caption. If you know me, you know I love to laugh and my first language is sarcasm, jokes or a good pun. I love iced coffee and have insomnia/anxiety. Those two go hand in hand somedays. Fall is my favorite season and I am an Enneagram type 6 with a 5 wing. (I tell my friends that it sometimes feels like a curse) but I like who I am and who I’ve become at age 32. (Definitely still a work in progress, tho)
Anyways I’ve been working behind the scenes and the kiddos start school soon so stay tuned for regularly scheduled content.

Last night it felt like it was time to pull out the toques and hoodies since it was chilly and rainy.

I snapped this candid photo a few years ago during the fall season as we were out exploring one of the local parks. We now live close to this park so I’m hoping to get some fall beanie photos IF I can convince Teagan and Nixon to model them 🤞🏼

Have you been wanting some of these hockey beanies? I only have very limited sizing left in these colors so let me know what size you’d like and I can see if I have it available.

Brooklyn & Cruz.

We have had such stress with our website that we haven’t worked on it now for awhile. To be honest, we need help.

We are thinking that one of these next rainy days, we should have a story sale with ready to ship beanies in various sizes and prints and also a few scrunchies. Since the website isn’t up and running yet, we will do EMT or PayPal. What do you think?

Tell us what sizes of beanies you’re hoping to order for the fall/winter season coming up. Do you have a print that you love? We will have lots of new prints and of course, lots of your old favorites. All luxe, all bamboo, all super soft.

Thanks for sticking around as we navigate some big, life changes and adjust to living on an acreage with much more responsibilities. I appreciate every single one of you and I hope to start posting on here more regularly.

I found a bunch of scrunchies the other day when I was unpacking that just need to be sewn shut and they’re ready for you guys.

So. Much. Goodness.
And softness. I wish you could feel them.

I love a rainy day. . . . .

Trying to do a bit of organizing and more product unpacking for Brooklyn & Cruz on this rainy evening. Jon is gone for a few days and the kids are needing space from each other so I am not getting much done, to be honest 😅

I hope you all are having a fabulous week and enjoying the rain, smoke, or sunshine, depending where you are.

I really miss having a sewing studio and a space where I can go and create literal things for you guys. I’m hoping I can convince Jon to help me design and install some shelving and desk tops/sewing tables this fall so I can upgrade from fold up tables after 6 yrs 😆

Brooklyn & Cruz received the most gorgeous stack of soft fabric this afternoon 🤩 I wish you all could reach through the screen and feel how luxe it really is.

The smoke is back but I got the garden weeded and watered before it got too bad so that feels good. I’ve been unpacking some inventory and have quite a few more beanies & scrunchies than I remembered so I’m excited about that.

I started upacking a bit of fabric and it makes me so happy. ☀️☀️☀️

Brooklyn & Cruz is still here and I just want to thank you all for sticking around as I navigate this life change with moving, driving half an hr to school and back, morning and afternoon, prioritizing my family and our day to day life and figuring out how to keep an acreage in tip top shape.

Brooklyn & Cruz will always be here but I will be making some changes, such as having mostly ready to ship sizes and prints and taking every summer ‘off’ and only having inventory that’s already made. I’m still figuring out all the logistics of how to make it work and still be present for Jon and the kids and be a full time mom and wife, business partner etc but keep my joy and not get burnt out and anxious.

I will be back in full force by the fall season for sure.

Ps. Do you like to work on websites? I have one already and know what I want but it needs some help that I can’t figure out myself. Send me a message if you’re interested.

I hope you feel as much joy on your Monday as Teagan does. ☀️☀️☀️

I made an iced latte before I took the offspring to school this morning so I’m sitting here in front of the fire, finishing it before I get my day started. I have a bunch of random things on my to do list for today. My daily planner has a space for a list of things to accomplish everyday so I always write down tasks I want to get done as I think of them and thn I can work on them all week and give myself grace if I don’t get something crossed off on the day it was written, otherwise I usually forget and only remember that I want to do when I’m busy doing something else and suddenly I have a whole weeks worth of little things to catch up on. Yes, I am one of those people that must write everything down the second I think of it or I’ll literally never think of it again until it’s the most inopportune time. Once Teagan started school, I realized how much I needed to write down things so I could remember what day is library day, Bible Memory day, hot lunch, fun days etc. I also write down things Jon tells me too thts happening with his business and work stuff so I’m not always clueless. Anyways sorry about the long Monday morning ramble 🤪

I am hoping to unpack some of my pretty fabric this week because I miss it. I do have just a few more totes of odds and ends to unpack first. This house definitely feels like home and I just love it so much.

Ps. If anyone is selling a Honda CRF110 dirtbike, let me know. We’re looking for one for Teagan. Preferably with an electric start. Thanks.

I really miss sewing for you all 😚

This is just a bit of a rambling update and some of my thoughts lately about it all. Whenever I was feeling overwhelmed or anxious or just needed to clear my head, I would pop into into my sewing room for a bit and I loved it. Now I go sit in the sun and enjoy the birds twittering if I’m feeling anxious. Or i walk around our new yard and see if anything’s growing yet or greening up. I have not unpacked anything pertaining to my sewing space yet. We are mostly all settled in and unpacked but I didn’t realize how very burnt out I truly was after 5 yrs so I’m enjoying my break. Jon told me the other day he didn’t miss me sewing cuz I was more present now so I’m still coming up with how I’m going to make it all work and still be there for my family and not get too busy and involved with Brooklyn & Cruz. I have to make some boundaries and actually stick with them, such as (for example) not being in my sewing room when Teagan and Nixon aren’t in school. This summer will be super busy for us keeping an acreage mowed, having a garden, going camping, watering lawn, going to Nova Scotia to visit my in laws, etc but I am hoping to slowly work at getting back into the groove and incorporate Brooklyn & Cruz into my daily routine again by the autumn season.

I love you all and appreciate you so very much. Thanks for sticking around 🤍

Romanticizing your life can be as simple of a task as making your bed every morning. It’s worth it. Buying yourself flowers just for the fun of it and because they’re gorgeous and caught your eye as you did your weekly grocery shopping. Having a morning routine, whether it’s sitting down and drinking your coffee or going for a run can make your life seem much more enjoyable. Hang a bunch of eucalyptus in the shower. Go on that lunch date that you’ve been putting off. Find a friend who will join you if you’d like. Eat those beautiful foods that also nourish you. Take the foodie pic, even if that’s no longer cool to do. Drink water with cucumber. Or strawberries. Or mint. The options are almost endless for pretty, infused water. Listen to your favorite music, whatever inspires you in that moment. Go on a mini adventure in your back yard. Remember your skin care routine and make it a priority, whether it’s only 1 step or 10. Wear nice clothes, even if you are doing nothing and have no plans. Being dressed nicely can lead to going on a spontaneous, last minute, fun, girls day out. Sit down and read that book you’ve been putting off because there is always something that needs doing. Guess what? There always will be that thing and it’ll still be there after you’ve read 3 chapters. Open that journal and make a gratitude list. Even things as small and simple as being grateful for sunshine, make your life much more romantic and not mundane. Take the plunge and try meal planning for a week. Walk barefoot as much as possible. Dig your fingers and toes in the dirt. Choose to have a happy life, even if it seems repetitive and you feel like no one notices anything you do.
Never forget tho, that life is real and sometimes we feel overwhelmed and that’s ok too. Don’t romanticize it so much that we forget what real, everyday life actually is.

I journaled these thoughts the other day and thn my friend sent me this photo of her weekend hiking in Jasper. And I thought it was too beautiful not to share 🤩 thanks for having cute babies, friends.
