I honestly can’t remember the last time I had to spread clothes outside under the sun. Back home, this was a normal part of life. washing clothes and hanging them out to dry was just what we did. But since moving abroad, it’s been all about the washing machine and dryer.

It’s funny how something so small like this makes you realize how much life has changed. This was one of those little adjustments I had to make living in the diaspora. No more chasing the sun before it sets or rushing to take clothes in when the rain starts.

Still, sometimes I miss the smell of sun-dried clothes and that simple routine.
