Another Hungarian childhood breakfast unlocked 🇭🇺🤎

Tejbegríz — warm, creamy semolina porridge… and apparently just an excuse to eat an unreasonable amount of cocoa. 😂

My rule? If you can still see the tejbegríz, you need more cocoa. 🤭

Now I need the Hungarians to settle this:

Not my usual Hungarian breakfast today… 🇭🇺😃 But today is definitely not a usual day. ✨

I have a very long day ahead, and I know I won’t have much time to stop and eat, so breakfast needed to be filling, fresh and give me plenty of energy. 💪🥑🍳

Eggs, avocado toast, cheese, seeds, tomatoes and fresh peppers — simple, colorful and exactly what I needed this morning.

Now I’m curious… would this keep YOU going for 12 hours? 👀😂 Or would you already be looking for a snack by 10 AM?

Hungarians invented French toast… we just forgot to tell everyone. 🇭🇺😂

Meet bundás kenyér — the Hungarian version of “French toast,” except we skipped the cinnamon, powdered sugar and maple syrup and went straight for the salty, crispy goodness. 😏

Bread + seasoned eggs + a hot pan = one of the simplest Hungarian breakfasts and a taste of my childhood. ❤️

Now before the food historians arrive in my comments… 😂

Goodbye, Toronto. 🌧️🏙️❤️

A rainy CN Tower view to end our long weekend getaway. Toronto, Niagara, lots of walking, lots of eating 😂 and now it’s time to head home.

Back to reality.
Back to the kitchen. 👩‍🍳
