I have a hat I put on sometimes. Clients call it the Product Therapist Hat. 🎩

It comes out when someone arrives with forty browser tabs, three half-finished sample requests, and a notebook full of ideas they can’t put in order.

Here’s the thing nobody tells you: 

Overwhelm at this stage isn’t a sign you’re not cut out for it. It’s a sign you’ve been handed a hundred decisions with no sequence. Of course it feels like too much — it is too much, until someone puts it in order.

That’s usually one hour of work. Not six months.

Nobody tells you how expensive building a product actually is. Holy cow.

After 45 years in this trade, here’s what I know: the founders who make it aren’t the ones who spent the most. They’re the ones who planned, trimmed, and stayed standing long enough to get there.

That’s The Chick Pea Life. Plenty of nutrition, way less pressure. Save the steak for the wins worth celebrating.

My friend Dikra sewed garments for my collection back when she was based in Montreal. Then she went home to Morocco — and invited me to come see what was being built there.

Several trips and fifteen-plus factories later, I’m still talking about it.

Morocco isn’t a backup plan for brands rethinking their supply chains — it’s a real option. A few hours from Spain.

Preferential trade agreements with the US and EU. A workforce with genuine skill and pride in the work, already producing for major European labels.

For anyone used to long lead times out of Asia, that proximity changes what’s possible: faster replenishment, more flexible runs, less capital sitting on a boat.

I’ve seen it firsthand. I think we’ll be hearing a lot more about it. 🇲🇦
