Working on very long draperies…148” can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. This particular fabric, although beautiful, has tremendous stretch. These draperies were initially hung, taken down after a few days of acclimatizing, re-hemmed, re-hung. They then dropped again, so we are onsite hand hemming. Sometimes, it’s just the way it is!!! 3 rooms almost done! Check out our highly scientific way of checking hem heights. 🤷‍♀️

Today is a day of mixed emotions, as I don my uniform for the very last time. I have worked in emergency services for most of my adult life between being a police dispatcher and a hospital unit clerk. After retiring last year from full-time in the emergency department, to work on my drapery business, I have continued to work part-time. Now, I am feeling blessed to have a thriving workroom business and can employee 3 people part-time. I am thrilled for this next chapter in my life but I will miss all the amazing people that work at the Weat Parry Sound Health Centre.

This is a long shot, but here goes. Looking for 30-32 yards of fabric for a designer…no longer in print. Although I am in Canada, I can arrange to have it shipped and picked up in the states.
