Carry-On WI was proud to play a small part in Kerry Ammerman struggle to maintain her independence. Members Brenda, Lois and Lynda presenting Kerry with a $500 cheque towards the purchase of a vehicle she can drive .
June seen the end of our Spring Into Action workshops.President Brenda led 7 novice jam makers on how to make prize winning jam.Each participant took home 2 jars of jam and we hope they were encouraged to enter at the fair.
The Strawberry Social on June 18 a dreary wet day, saw Carry-On host approximently 50 people to enjoy a delicious dessert of angel food cake,strawberries and whip cream with a choice of coffee,tea, lemonade or water. it was a fun social afternoon for all.
June 27,at the dog show, Brenda Lois and Lynda presented Kerry Ammerman a $500 cheque to help her continue to be an independent woman.
Our June 25 meeting was postponed until July 9 when president Brenda had organized a visit to Tullamore Lavendar Farm. With Lynda in the lead might be the last time I get to lead we headed to Chucks Roadhouse in Arthur.The food was great, the service was excellent and the 11 WI memebers had a great time catching up. The rain came down in buckets while in Chucks and on our way to Tullamore lavendar farm. We travelled up the winding lane enjoying the beauty of the lavendar. Owner Stephanie started her tour inside the store and when the rain subsided we all went out to tour the grounds. Thankyou to President Brenda for introducing us to this hidden loasis in our backyard.If you missed this fabulous outing Tullamore is open until Aug. 2nd
