We are so grateful to Mellisa from Petite Prairie Threads, who created these beautiful ribbon skirts for our Barbies and even made the journey from Provost to deliver them to our centre!

These special pieces let our little learners explore and celebrate Indigenous culture through play, storytelling, and creativity. Seeing the dolls come to life and watching our children ask questions, engage, and discover the richness of these traditions is such a joyful experience.

Thank you, Mellisa, for your care, passion, and for helping children connect with culture through play, it truly makes a difference in their learning and our community!

More “Barbie” ribbon skirts at Red Pheasant Centex Gas Bar!
I also have made “Air Freshener Ribbon Skirts” to hang in your car. All you have to do is add your own air freshener. I suggest buying a air freshener, cutting it and stick it into the bottom (where Velcro is) and close it!

These are some new additions. I started up my handy dandy Cricut to make some iron on designs.

There is something so special about seeing these ribbon skirts I have made being used through play.✨ The Ribbon Skirts are officially being used in action!
Watching the kids dress their dolls in these barbie sized ribbon skirts, and funny enough some are still inside out as if they wanted to try the next skirt in a hurry! This truly has been the highlight of my week. It’s more than just a craft; it’s about identity, pride, and teaching the next generation the beauty of indigenous culture from a young age. 🪶🧡

Today was a truly special day! I had the wonderful opportunity to fulfill an order for BGC Saskatoon at the John Lake Early Learning Centre.
Mimi Phan, the Pedagogical Leader/Director, reached out to me, so I figured I would make the trip to bring ribbon skirts for the Barbie’s at their centre. I am so passionate about the idea of children (and educators!) connecting with culture through play. Seeing these dolls in an environment where they will be cherished by the next generation means the world to me. 🧵✨
A huge thank you to Mimi for inviting me to hand-deliver these personally. There is nothing better than meeting face-to-face and building these beautiful community connections. 🧡

New to my collection: Ribbon Skirt Car Air Freshener Mirror charms.
Will be creating more styles!

With these ribbon skirt charms, they have a handy Velcro opening at the bottom, that allows you to place a car freshener inside.
These are great because who doesn’t love a beautiful ribbon skirt with a nice scent lingering! :)
