Coasters made from repurposed laminate floor and beautiful paper saved from landfills. Like most people around the world we have noticed that there is a growing problem with the amount of pollution and waste in the environment. We decided we needed to do something about this problem. Enter the wonderful world of Coas-Ware - finding ways to reuse everyday items that otherwise would find their ways
to landfills and recycle plants. Our first step was to decide upon a product that we wished to focus our efforts on. We noticed that a lot of beer, liquor, and pop bottles had beautiful designs on them. The majority of which were used for only a short amount of time and then were sent to our local bottle depot or worse the landfill. We decided to make glasses out of old bottles, thus saving some of the energy used to melt down and recycle these glass bottles. We replaced this energy with our own amount of elbow grease, which was less harmful to the environment and resulted in the preservation of these fabulous designs. We began looking around our house for other relatively useless items that we could repurpose. Soon we discovered a number of scraps of laminate flooring that we had no use for. We found that if we cut them square they made good coasters. As we continued our Coas-Ware endeavour we were still looking for new ways to make great products while saving the environment. We decided to further our line of coasters. Our previous coasters were nice, but relatively plain. We started doing our spring cleaning and had a number of old comic books and scrapbook papers. We thought we could dress up our coasters with some of this beautiful artwork. Through this process we are now at the point in our business where we are currently at today.
