Should I take this as a compliment?

Maybe I should send them a picture of me on my deck on my hands and knees taking these pictures with a piece of white dollar store foam board behind the bears. If you were to see my setup you would laugh. Itā€™s super high tech.

I can assure you that my bears are lovingly made in my sewing room by me and each picture is taken by me.

I had the honour of working on this amazing piece thatā€™s nearly 60 years old.

My client came to me looking to have a lining put in her late husbandā€™s hockey jacket so that her grandson could wear it.

I sourced some amazingly soft cotton/Lycra fabric from Mimi Fabrics in Kanata. Think of your favourite, soft sweatshirt and make it even better.

I had to get the closest match to the jacket colour as the jacket was quite see through and I didnā€™t want the lining to change the jacket colour.

I drafted a pattern, cut the fabric and created a lining that fit perfectly inside. There were a few seam repairs that I had to do to the outside as well to make sure it withstands a teenage boy wearing it.

A lot of what I do is planning, calculating, measuring and thinking about how I should sew things before I even touch the fabric or piece of clothing. A lot of the items Iā€™m cutting into cannot be replaced, so the whole ā€œmeasure twice, cut onceā€ rule really applies. Iā€™d say itā€™s more like measure 20 times and then cut.

This pillow is such a fun way to celebrate a sporting career and proudly display achievements and memories.

Good morning!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this weather

Iā€™ve havenā€™t had as much time to sew as Iā€™d like recently, but I did send this lovely gent home recently

This shirt was 98% cotton and 2% spandex, so it had some stretch to it. I had to line it with interfacing to keep him from stretching out when I stuffed him. Even the slightest stretch in fabric can result in a warped look, which is definitely not what you want
