When I first started shooting wrestling content for North Wrestle, I felt a little out of place, I was afraid because I didn’t know what I was doing. Standing behind the camera instead of on the mat took some adjusting.
But I used to be an athlete. I know how it feels to step out there, to compete, to lose, and get back up. That doesn’t disappear when you switch perspectives. So when I’m filming now, I’m not just capturing a moment, I’m seeing it as both the competitor and the creator.
A lot of you didn’t even know I wrestled. I actually used to film in between my own matches. Warm up, set up my gear, wrestle, film other matches, warm up again, wrestle again, then go home and edit. I’ve always enjoyed making videos.
