When I first started shooting wrestling content for North Wrestle, I felt a little out of place, I was afraid because I didn’t know what I was doing. Standing behind the camera instead of on the mat took some adjusting.

But I used to be an athlete. I know how it feels to step out there, to compete, to lose, and get back up. That doesn’t disappear when you switch perspectives. So when I’m filming now, I’m not just capturing a moment, I’m seeing it as both the competitor and the creator.

A lot of you didn’t even know I wrestled. I actually used to film in between my own matches. Warm up, set up my gear, wrestle, film other matches, warm up again, wrestle again, then go home and edit. I’ve always enjoyed making videos.

I have never told my story publicly before.

Growing up on reserve. What my parents carried from residential school and Indian Day School. Losing my kokum, and years later, becoming a guardian myself at 22. Finding wrestling at 14, hating it, then building a decade of my life around it. Building North Wrestle from one camera and no plan.

This is the story behind everything I do today.

Read through, and if it resonates, follow along. I’m still writing this story.

Tansi, I’m honoured to share that I have been selected as a 2026 Pow Wow Pitch Semi-Finalist with North Wrestle ()

Pow Wow Pitch () is an Indigenous entrepreneurship competition across Turtle Island. This fall, I will be moving to the next stage with the opportunity to pitch for $25,000.

North Wrestle exists to build visibility in Canadian wrestling. This recognition is another step forward in that mission.

Grateful for the support and excited for what comes next.
Hiy Hiy.

Q2 of 2026. Humbled.

The most important part of every plan is planning on your plan not going according to plan.

Learning requires failure. Grateful for the challenge.

Let’s keep moving forward!

Thank you, Quarter One of 2026.

This has been the hardest road I’ve been on so far, and a lot more humbling than I expected. Not everything went how I planned, but I stayed in it and kept moving forward.

Still here.

Last sprint.
