It’s hard when you feel like you have to do what your ex is asking…especially when you’re not in a strong place financially, emotionally, or mentally. Or maybe it's just because they are good at manipulating and getting what they want.
It starts to feel like there’s no other option.
Like saying “no” isn’t even on the table.
And the worst part?
They know you’re vulnerable.
They know you’re trying to hold everything together.
And they use that to pull you back in.
When you’re just trying to feed your child, pay the bills, keep up with activities, survive the month…
it’s easy to fall into old patterns because, in the moment, those patterns felt like the only thing keeping you afloat.
Even when you knew deep down it wasn’t right.
Only the people who’ve lived this truly understand how heavy it is.
The tug-of-war.
The emotional pressure.
The quiet fear of what will happen if you don’t give in.
Because if you don’t do what they want?
Suddenly co-parenting becomes tense.
Cold.
Harder than it needs to be.
